Principal’s Report
It has been another big couple of weeks with alot happening at Hampton Park. Last Tuesday we were very lucky to have Lewis Jetta and Mark Hutchings from the West Coast Eagles come and present the Eagles Cup to our winning team and speak to some of our students. The students were very fortunate as the two Eagle players ran a clinic following on from the presentation. Massimo was the luckiest kid at Hampton as Lewis Jetta gave him the Eagle's Team Hoody he was wearing!!
Congratulations to our Year 6 Student Councillors who were announced at the assembly in week 2.

These 8 students have demonstrated the school values on a consistent basis and are wonderful role models for other students.
Congratulations to all participants at the Interschool Cross Country. The students showed tremendous resilience and perseverance in completing a very challenging course while competing against capable athletes from other schools.
Positive Work
It has been very pleasing to see the number of children visiting the office with outstanding work. This has been wonderful to see. There are a large number of Principal award recipients and this is a reflection of how well our students are working in class.
Assemblies
Our second assembly is being held today and will be presented by Cluster 4. All families and friends are welcome to attend. The assembly will commence at 8:45am.
A big thank you to Mr Rakimov and his Lab assistants who put on a show for us all to see in the last assembly. Science is an important part of the student’s education and to make it fun like Mr Rakimov does is an absolute bonus. Well done!

The chosen students from each class then compete with students at their year level. Two students from each year level then present their speeches at an assembly to decide the Year Level Public Speaking Champions. This year the Public Speaking Assembly will be held on Wednesday 21st August. There will also be musical entertainment provided by the students. Please come along to hear some fabulous speeches.

Author Visit – Dr Cameron Stelzer, The Story Doctor
On Friday 20th September, we have a special visit from Author and Illustrator Dr Cameron Stelzer. Dr Cameron is visiting Hampton Park Primary School to run workshops with our Year 3 to 6 students. Cameron will be engaging students in a writing workshop exploring exciting and descriptive language. The students are reading his fabulous books in their classes. We are looking forward to a great day! A note for the students involved with the cost and details will be sent out prior to the big day.
In conjunction with the Author Visit, Hampton Park PS families have a special opportunity to purchase signed and personalised copies of Cameron’s books at special prices. Individual books are $15 each and there are also exclusive book sets available. Students will receive an order form on the day of the workshops. Forms and payment can be returned to the office Monday 23rd September.
Science Assembly
In week 2 Mr Rakimov and some keen Science students inspired and entertained the school with a Science assembly. The assembly started with some gross and weird science facts. Did you know that carpet can have 4000 times more germs than the inside of a toilet?
After the impressive facts we watched a motivating short film about what Hampton Park kids love about Science and why Science is so important. The assembly finished with an exciting Science demonstration by Mr Rakimov. He made explosions, created oozy elephant’s toothpaste and played with an air horn, silly string and party poppers.
We think it was a sensational and educational experience that everyone really enjoyed. We can’t wait until the next Science assembly!
