Principal’s Report

Thank you to all the families who have already paid their voluntary contribution to the school. The contribution rate is set by the School Board each year. Families were provided a booklet in Term Four last year outlining charges and contributions and if your child is new to the school this year then the booklet is inside your School Information Folder. The contributions go towards supplementing the schools resources. While most of our requirements are covered by our government funding it always helps to have a little bit more. By receiving the voluntary contributions it frees up some of our funds to purchase other resources. Please see the photo below of a year one class all busy working on their iPads.

School Review

A large focus during recent professional learning days and staff meetings has been on preparing for our school review, which officially takes place next Tuesday 16th March. The staff have been in working groups building up our documentation and evidence. There are six domains that we are reviewed under with one of them being relationships. Our parent community will be represented on the day by members of the School Board and the P&C to discuss community relationships.

School Camp

Next week our Year Sixes depart for three days of fun at the Dare Adventure Camp in Dwellingup. This is an annual event, held at the commencement of the year. The camping grounds have particular activities established there that help the children to extend their development in all areas of our school values program; respect, confidence, persistence, responsibility, resilience, courtesy, honesty and confidence. 94% of the Year Six children have elected to attend. Mr Ker, Mr Lee, Mr Johnston (School Chaplain), Mrs Cunningham, Mrs Donetta and Mrs Firby will be in attendance with children for the three days and two nights of the camp. I would like to thank my staff for being so willing to give up their personal life for three days to attend the camp. Thank you also to Mrs Clamp for her assistance with budgeting for the camp.

Used Furniture

The school has an old wooden teacher’s desk that is free to a good home. Being made of wood and steel framed it is very heavy. If anyone is looking for a new bench in their shed or a homework table for their children please come and take it away. Currently it is sitting in the wet area next to Cluster Six.

Summer Carnival – Friday 26th March (Week 8)

This year's carnival sees a slight change of format from previous years. Being such a short term the schools in the Maguire Sporting Association will combine for the Summer Carnival, this will see six schools competing instead of our usual three.

All the children from Room 6 to Room 9 will be given the opportunity to play either Flag Belt Rugby, T20 Bash Cricket, Ultimate Frisbee/Speedball or Newcombe Volleyball. Some of the sports will be running a clinic/training session in the early part of the day and switch to competitive games for the remainder.

Parents are invited to attend and be supportive barrackers for our teams and umpires whilst following the State's Covid guidelines.

Permission/Information notes will be coming home soon.

Children will be travelling to and from Altone Recreation Area by bus. The bus will leave Hampton Park Primary School at 9:00am and return at 2:30pm.

All food and drink for the day will be required to be supplied from home. School uniform including hats will be required. Children requiring asthma puffers will need to be supplied from home.

Harmony Day

We are looking forward to celebrating Harmony Day on Wednesday 24th March. We will have a Harmony Day assembly, a long table lunch and lots of activities to celebrate all the different and wonderful cultures at Hampton Park Primary School.
