Last Day of Term Three

11th October

First Day of Term Four

Principal’s Report

As I’ve previously mentioned, Term Three is a very busy term. We have the Faction Athletics Main Carnival day on Friday this week, weather permitting of course. If there is rain around, hopefully it won’t be too bad and we can get races run in-between showers. School Photos are in Week Nine and finally the Interschool Athletics is in Week Ten. The last day of term is Friday 24th September, whew.

Athletics Carnival

A copy of the competitors list for Friday’s carnival was sent to all families via Connect on Monday night. There are always last minute changes made owing to children being sick on the day or other unexpected events, so please be understanding if this happens with your child. We do ask for parents to remain away from the children during the carnival on Friday to give the children a safe environment for their events. Families will be able to picnic together at lunchtime if they wish. The P&C have arranged an ice cream van to visit and they will be holding a cake stall and sausage sizzle for lunch, as previously mentioned. A plea did go out via Connect last week for additional helpers with the cake stall and sausage sizzle, either as sellers or sausage turners. The P&C will be setting up just after 9am. If you are able to assist with set up, it would be greatly appreciated as the tables are quite difficult to manage with only one person. It’s also a terrific way to get to know the other parents at the school and children usually get very excited to see Mum or Dad helping out at the school.

Kiss n Drive Shelters

Prior to the State Government elections earlier this year, the Hon. Amber-Jade Sanderson MLA, approached the School Board and the P&C regarding some special funding of $30,000, that would be made available to our school should the Labour Party retain office. The School Board gave a list of five projects they believed would benefit the school. The replacement shelters at the Kiss n Drive were chosen. Please see the before, during and after photos below. We are very thankful for the new shelter and thank the parents for their patience during the construction. During the holidays another shelter will be constructed over the walkway from the gate to the Early Childhood building. Thank you to the State Government for their support of Hampton Park Primary School.

Term Four

Please note students return for Term Four on Monday 11th October. There is no Professional Development Day/Pupil Free Day until Friday 17th December.

Enrolments

We still have vacancies for our kindergarten classes next year. If you have or know of a family who has a child that was born between 1st July 2017 and 30th June 2018 and they are not already enrolled at another school for Kindy then it is not too late to do it. Please see our website for an enrolment form or visit the front office.

Book Week

In Week Six we celebrated Book Week. The theme this year was ‘Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds.’ The students had an amazing time participating in whole school competitions and quizzes throughout the week and loved having different teachers read their favourite books to them. It was marvelous seeing so many students dressed up for the parade. Thank you to the wonderful staff, students and parents for making this another incredible Book Week celebration.

Science and Technology Day at Hampton Senior High School

On Wednesday 1st September, all of the Year Sixes spent an exciting and very educational day at Hampton Senior High School. We got to join in lots of fun and interesting challenges in Science and STEM, we even made our own key rings.

P&C

Hello Families and Friends.

It's Faction Carnival week.

We are still looking for a volunteer to fill the essential role of Secretary on our committee. Having all positions filled is a requirement of our ability to operate a P&C association. Tasks that this role undertakes include collating the agenda and taking minutes for P&C meetings, managing P&C correspondence, monitoring our social media accounts and helping organise events. If you are interested in getting involved on the P&C and would like more information about this role, please contact the President, Amy Feleppa on 0415219095 or email us at info@hppspandc.org.au

Our next meeting is Monday 25th October at 2pm in the school boardroom. All school community members are welcome, we'd love to see some new faces.

For all P&C information and events within our school community, stay tuned to our Social Media for updates, like and follow us on:
