Interschool Carnival – Main Carnival

24th September

Last Day of Term Three

11th October

First Day of Term Four

Principal’s Report

Week Ten of Term Three, the older I am the quicker the weeks go by. As promised it has been a very busy term and this week is no exception, with Interschool Athletics Monday and Wednesday and Values Day on Friday.

Faction Athletics Carnival

I would like to start firstly by thanking everyone for the wonderful response for assistance with the cake stall and sausage sizzle for our athletics carnival on the 10th September. It was wonderful to see so many people willing to give up their time to assist the P&C and ultimately the students. Overall it was a terrific day, the weather was very kind to us. Student, parent and staff engagement was extremely high. Thanks to everyone for participating so well.

Staff Changes

Mrs Marie Gardner is returning at the commencement of Term Four having taken six months leave following the birth of her son, welcome back Marie. This will mean saying goodbye to Ms Rebecca McCrossan. Bec has been a wonderful inclusion into the school and will be missed. Hopefully though, as Ms McCrossan’s new position is for four days per week we may well have her back doing relief on Fridays. Next term, Mrs Kelly Horrocks is returning after several years of parental leave. Mrs Horrocks will be sharing in C4 with Mrs Davis, working on Thursdays and Fridays. Thank you to Ms Liana Anastasio who has filled in for the past few weeks after Mrs Farthing went on maternity leave. Ms Anastasio has a contract at a private school for the remainder of this year and we wish her all the best.

Lost Property

We have a massive amount of school jackets hanging in lost property. This is outside the staffroom. There is also a large carton that has a variety of dishes, containers, lunch boxes, drink bottles etc. If your child has lost something or you sent food to school on a plate please feel free to rummage through and take whatever is yours.

Back to School

Term Four recommences on Monday 11th October. Please note this in your diary or on the fridge, so that your child doesn’t miss the first day back. The last day of school this year for students is Thursday 16th December. School recommences on Monday 31st January 2022.

Presentation Dates

As already noted on the school’s web page under the School Calendar tab, we will be holding the Year Six Presentation assembly on Tuesday 7th December at 9am. The Year One to Six Book Awards assembly is the following Tuesday 14th December at 8:50am, with the Kindergarten and Pre-Primaries having their special morning on Wednesday 15th December. Both classes of Kindergarten students are invited to attend on that day.

Kindergarten Orientation Morning

Each year we hold an information session for parents of the next year’s Kindergarten classes. This year it will be on Wednesday 10th November from 9:00–10:00am. We invite outside organisations to speak to the parents as well as the school outlining a few items. From 8:45–10:30am on this morning, two sales staff from our uniform suppliers Tudor Uniforms will be selling or taking orders for your child’s 2022 Kindergarten uniform.

Former Students Success

Congratulations to the following former Hampton Park Primary School students now in Year Seven, on a fantastic start to secondary school at Hampton Senior High School.

Rosy K and Emily L were both recently awarded certificates at the High Achievers Assembly for excellent results in the first semester.

Faction Athletics Carnival

Thank you to those who control the weather, we were blessed with a terrific Tuesday and a fantastic Friday for this year's Athletics Carnival. A big thank you to Mrs Bingham, Mr Capozzi and Mrs Batchelor for their help on Tuesday with jumps and throws. Tuesday was all about individual brilliance and personal bests, Friday was more about team performance.

After Tuesday’s events, green faction was very much in the lead. The other factions were going to have to fight it out for second. However, by the end of competition on Friday green faction only just kept their green noses in front as the fast-finishing blue faction got to within 30 points of them. Blue (Forrest) faction’s performance in team games and relays was outstanding.

Thanks to all the parents who not only came to cheer on their favourite athletes, but to all of those who competed against a very fast, fit, talented and youthful teachers team in pass ball and 50m sprints. A few hammy and quad muscles will probably still be twinging.

Thank you must go to the students who were magnificent all day, the teachers for their efforts in controlling, cajoling and cheering on their factions and finally to the silky voiced Mr "Dennis Cometti" Ker for his efforts on the microphone all day.

Gardening Club and Cluster 3 have been busy in the garden. We have dead headed the sunflowers. When they dry out we will use the seeds for next year’s crop. The everlastings are looking beautiful and we have been eating the snow peas and lettuce. Thank you to all the children who participated in Gardening Club this term, the garden is looking fantastic.

“The 2021 End of Year Dance Concert has been titled Pendulum as a reflection of the importance of the element of time to contemporary dance; time that governs the pacing and flow of movements throughout every performance. Furthermore, pendulums represent the ebb and flow of human history, from crisis to prosperity and the assurance that dark times will always end as surely as the sun rises.”
