Colour Fun Run

We’re very excited about the upcoming Colour Fun Run to be held on November 12th. If your child hasn’t already done so, please assist them to set up their online account and then they can start asking for donations. The money raised will go towards either end of year activities or next year the P&C have offered to sponsor all our students to attend an excursion to the Constable Care Safety School in Maylands. This is a very large commitment of over $5,000. The P&C will also be spending funds on aspects of the canteen, which will be very beneficial to the children in menu options. They are going to trial the canteen being opened for a fourth day of the week, a Tuesday. More information on that will be released soon.

Maths and Science Day

Last Friday the children in the clusters and veranda classrooms participated in rotational activities that were based on mathematical or scientific designs. The children participated very well. Unfortunately, as stated in the Connect notice last week the World of Maths Incursion had to be postponed. This will now be held on Thursday, 25th November. The Kindergarten and Pre Primary children have a SciTech incursion on Thursday 11th November, this promises to be very entertaining and informative for all. Photos from the day can be viewed in the Maths and Science Day article.

Kindergarten Orientation Morning

On Wednesday 10th November at 9am the parents for next year’s Kindergarten children have been invited to an Information morning. The session will be held in the Kindergarten room and the current Kindergarten children will spend this time with the Pre Primary children, which will include attending an in-house assembly.

School Tours

We will be running school tours for any current parents that are unsure of where all the facilities are around the school. This is in particular for parents of Kindergarten and Pre-Primary children, although others are still welcome. Tours will be held every Wednesday at 2:30pm in weeks five to eight, which is November 10th, 17th, 24th and 1st December. Please meet at the Administration building if you would like to participate.

Year Six Enterprise Project

Children from Year Six will be selling Worm Wiz at today’s assembly and at the assembly on the 17th November. This is a by-product from the worm castings and is very beneficial to your plants. It will be sold for $2 per 2 litre bottle.

ECE Covered Walkway

It was fabulous to see the covered walkway to the early childhood buildings completed when we returned this term. This was paid for with funds that we received from the Labour Party as a pre-election promise if they were voted back in to form the Western Australian Government.

Remembrance Day

This year for Remembrance Day the children have been involved in a special project where they have transformed hubcap moulds into red poppies. On Remembrance Day selected students will be attaching the poppies to the fence leading to the oval. A massive thank you to Mrs Todd, whose concept this was and who has been using her personal time to have the students paint the poppies. Mrs Todd has been supported in this project by Mrs Kustra, Mrs Gosling, Mrs K and Mrs Firby. Special thanks to them and anyone else that was involved.

Maths and Science Day

On Friday 29th October, we held our 2021 Maths and Science Day. It was a fun way to promote Maths and Science throughout the school.

Students participated in science and maths activities throughout the day, where they visited different classrooms and were taught by different teachers.

The Year One to Six classes came together for a special science presentation with Mr Rakimov, complete with videos and science demonstrations. The highlight for many was the "explosions" on the oval at lunch time.

Phys Ed Clinics

The students have been taking part in some different types of sports. These sports are available to them in the community but not necessarily at school.

We have had Pickle Ball, a mini version of tennis using small bats and a plastic "holey" ball. It is a game played on a 1/4 of a regular tennis court and is one that you might see in future Olympic Games.

Blake from Rugby West came in to give the Year One and Two students some rugby union tips and a possible pathway to joining the Western Force in a few years. They played rugby scarecrow and outback attack to train their evasion skills and ball handling talents.

Using a Sporting Schools grant, this week classes are learning some Ten Pin Bowling skills and challenges over four sessions.

Swimming Carnival

Notes for this year’s Swimming Carnival will be sent home shortly. Students in Year Three to Year Six participate in the carnival if they have achieved a particular level of swimming competency. The carnival will be held on Friday 19th November from 11.30am to 3pm at Bayswater Waves.

Student Requirements

Student Requirements have been sent home for 2022. Please note that orders need to be completed by Friday 19th November through Campion. Orders can still be placed past this date, but may incur a late fee. The Student Requirements are also available on our website under Enrolments should you require another copy.

Not Returning to Hampton Park in 2022

This is the ideal time to notify us if you are moving home/school.

If your child/children are not returning to Hampton Park Primary School next year, please email us at hamptonpark.ps@education.wa.edu.au or use the app to notify us quoting the child’s name, their room number and where they will be attending school in 2022.

VacSwim Swimming Lessons

Enrolments are open for VacSwim swimming lessons during the summer school holidays.

VacSwim offers fun lessons at beach or pool locations during the long break. It’s a great school holiday activity that teaches valuable safety skills to help keep your child safe in the water.

Your children can start as young as five years old.

Don’t wait! Enrol your children in VacSwim now at the link below.

Fundraising and Events

Colour Fun Run – Friday 12 November

Starts at 2pm on the school oval. Don't forget to wear white shirts.

We are looking forward to our best Colour Fun Run yet! Funds raised are going towards an amazing end of year event! It’s not too late to sign up online to start fundraising, every little bit counts and there are some awesome incentive prizes available. If you are collecting cash donations, please return your books and money to the P&C box located in the office. Incentive prizes will be delivered the following week.

We’d love to have lots of parents involved with this event. We will need helpers on the day to set up/pack up the course, as well as manning the colour stations and covering the kids in colour powder. We are also looking for old tyres and hay bales to make the course more interesting. If you can help out, please get in touch by email info@hppspandc.org.au, reach out on our socials or leave your details with the office.
