Principal’s Report
Thank you to the members of our community who continue to support the school in such a positive way. Last week the mandate for mask wearing became effective and we had 100% compliance to this without any negative comments or questions. Thank you for continuing to work with our school community to help keep each other safe.
On Tuesday, we had 25 children and 2 staff isolating as they were listed as close contacts from external sources. I am required to send this data and any positive case data into the Department of Education daily. It would be a great assistance if families could advise us if their child is required to be in isolation.
As of Tuesday 2nd March, we have had six students test positive to Covid. With the new mask regulation we have avoided closing two classrooms this week as all children and staff were wearing masks. If you have a child test positive please inform the school as soon as possible. As the children in Kindy to Year Two are not required to wear masks, a positive case in those rooms would mean we have to close the classroom and everyone would need to isolate.
With the volume of people in the community with Covid increasing we are finding it difficult to get relief staff for the classrooms. Consequently, your child may come home and say, for example, “We didn’t have Science today as Mr Rakimov had to teach in another classroom.” Obviously the main classrooms are where we will place staff first and then the specialist classes.
Dog Signs
New signs went up around the oval this morning advising the community that no dogs are allowed onto the school grounds during school time and we are asking for them to be on leads after school hours. Hopefully this will reduce the amount of dog faeces on the school oval and surrounds.
Flu Injections
I have been approached by a company called REDIMED to provide flu injections at the school. We will be running two clinics at this stage for up to 50 people and if bookings increase they may add a third or fourth. The flu vaccine will be free for those with a valid Medicare card. The clinics will be for students, parents and staff. At this stage the clinics are booked for Monday 9th May from 9am to 11am and the Friday 13th May from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. Further information will follow closer to the date regarding how to book in etc.
Harmony Day
This year, our Harmony Day activities will look a little different. We won’t be able to have our Long Table Lunch as we have had in other years as we can’t co-mingle or share food. The HASS committee are planning other activities so that we are able to still learn of the different cultures around the world.

Voluntary Contributions
A reminder of unpaid billing items was sent home to those families with an outstanding account balance last week. Some statements incorrectly printed a $0 balance as the outstanding amount due to a system glitch, which was incorrect. If you are unsure if this applies to you please email hamptonpark.ps@education.wa.edu.au or contact the office.
Has your contact information changed?
Please notify the office if any of your contact details have changed. It is important that we have the correct contact information for Parents/Carer’s and Students for general correspondence and in the case of an emergency.
