Principal’s Report
Welcome back to Term Four, where we have seen some sensational spring weather already.
WASO Performance
We have hit the ground running and last week we had WASO (Western Australian Symphony Orchestra) visit. They performed for all the students and staff in the undercover area. The students were in awe of the incredible sounds coming from the woodwind ensemble, which included piccolo, flute, oboe, clarinet and bassoon with a special appearance from a French horn. They played a selection of pieces and displayed the incredible skill of playing a musical instrument.
JFSC Music
John Forrest Secondary College will be performing today for our students. The Senior Band, the Guitar Ensemble and the Choral Choir from the high school will entertain us all. We are very excited to potentially see some former Hampton Park Primary students perform and show how much they have progressed.
Technology Day
The school will be celebrating all things technology on Friday 28 October. The children have been working extremely hard all year to have all their wonderful creations ready for the day. We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.
Fundraiser
Last week the Year Six students and their teachers ran the last event of a very successful year of fundraising. The jersey day was a huge hit culminating in a staff verses student game of basketball. The competition was fierce as always, but the teachers prevailed once again. A lot of fun was had by everyone.

Car Park Safety
Just a friendly reminder to parents to make sure you are following the road rules whilst in the car park. We have had a few near misses with students crossing and vehicles going far too fast inside the car park. Please also remember that children of a certain age and height must be in a child safety seat and they should not be in a passenger seat until they have reached those milestones.

Technology Day – Friday 28 October 1 to 3 pm
We are ready to go and very excited for this fun day! Every class will have their own business stall and the students will be selling products. The stalls will be full of products the students have made, games and delicious food. The entertainment will include busking and the school choir. We will also show you some of our robotics. Half of the profits will be used to buy robotics kits for the school and half will go to the charity chosen by the students, ‘The Australian Wildlife Conservancy’. The students really need your assistance to support them on their stall for a short time. An invitation has been sent to parents with a return slip. Please return this as soon as possible if you can help.
Author Visit – Dr Cameron Stelzer, The Story Doctor
On Thursday 3 November, we have a special visit from Author and Illustrator Dr Cameron Stelzer. Dr Cameron is visiting Hampton Park Primary School to run workshops with our Pre Primary to Year 6 students. Pre Primary students will enjoy an interactive big screen book reading with Cameron, Years 1 and 2 students will participate in a writing workshop focusing on idea formation and inspirations for narratives and Years 3 to 6 students will be exploring techniques to create blockbuster action stories – think gripping suspense scenes, epic action encounters and hold-on-to-your-seat cliff-hangers. Students and teachers are looking forward to a great day!
In conjunction with the visit, Hampton Park families have a special opportunity to purchase signed and personalised copies of Cameron’s books at special prices. Individual books are $10 to $15 each and there are also exclusive book sets available. Students will receive an order form on the day of the workshops. Forms and payment can be returned the following day, Friday 4 November, to the Office.
Inter School Athletics Carnival – Day 2
Thankfully, the weather was much more conducive to an athletics event on Day 2 of the carnival. Hampton’s athletes gave their all and managed to bring home the Meritorious Shield, awarded to the school that improves their score the most from the previous year. Our leader ball, pass ball and flag relay teams had some success, in particular Miss Owsiak’s Intermediates (Yr3/4) who won or placed in all of their events.
Congratulations to Matthew L and Bruce N who managed to take out Champion and Runner Up Champion, rarely does one school manage to get both placings!

Values Day – Term 3
On the final day of Term 3 we celebrated our school values by participating in our Values morning. The student’s activities were organised by Mrs Avichzer, Mr Rakimov, Mr Radovic, Mrs Gardner and Mrs Newman. There was a range of fun and challenging activities that required the students to cooperate and be resilient. A big thank you to the teachers for providing the activities and a big congratulations to the students who participated so strongly in all of the activities.

Office Art Display
Be sure to have a look at C2's amazing unicorn art next time you visit the office. Thank you Cluster 2.
Voluntary Contributions
Statements were sent home with students last week. Thank you to families who have already paid their accounts. Please contact the office if you have any queries about the statement you received or if you would like to pay your account. Whilst voluntary, these contributions go towards much needed student resources.
Planning for the 2023 School Year
Now is the ideal time to notify us if you are moving home or school. If your child/children won’t be returning to Hampton Park Primary School next year, please advise us via email at hamptonpark.ps@education.wa.edu.au
