Principal’s Report
Thank you to everyone for welcoming me back, it is lovely to see the children and staff. Thank you to Ben Ker for the excellent work he did as Principal in my absence and Mike Lee for his terrific work as the Deputy Principal.
World Teacher’s Day
Last week Australia celebrated World Teacher’s Day. At Hampton Park we are all educators of the children regardless of our job title and description. I would like to say thank you to all the staff that help to teach the children.
Constable Care Incursion
This week is the first of our visits to the Constable Care Safety House. A big thank you to the P&C for their amazing contribution of paying for everyone to attend, I can’t remember the exact figure but between admission cost and bus fares the P&C will pay over $7,000 for all classes, except the Kindergarten to attend. Unfortunately, the Safety House doesn’t run the program for Kindergarten children. Of course, the P&C are only able to do this because of the generosity of families that have supported their past fundraising events.
Dr Cameron Stelzer Incursion
On Thursday, Dr Cameron Stelzer will be visiting the school and talking with all the students. Cameron has been a full time author since 2004. He has written and illustrated thirty two books for children and has worked with over eight hundred schools. His books have won sixteen international book awards. He has been a guest blogger for the Summer Reading Club and the Reading Adventure Club. We can’t wait to hear from him again.
Technology Day
Technology Day was a huge success with the students raising $3067.70. Half of this will be donated to The Australian Wildlife Conservancy, which is the charity that the students voted for. The other half will go towards buying more technology products for the students to use. Thank you to everyone that assisted with the day.
Swimming Carnival
The annual swimming carnival for Year 3 to 6 students is being held this Friday at Bayswater Waves. Family members are welcome to attend. The events commence at 11:30 am with the anticipated finish time of 2:30 pm. It is a day designed to have fun and participate.

Technology Day
Thank you to all the parents that came along on Friday to make the day such a successful event. A special thanks to the parents who helped the students on the stalls. A huge thank you also goes to every staff member who put so much effort in to both the preparation for the day and on Friday. We raised $3067.70! This will be used to purchase more robotics equipment and also go to the charity the students chose, The Australian Wildlife Conservancy. The students did an amazing job making all their Design Technology products to sell and most stalls were sold out.
