Principal’s Report

I would like to thank all of the school community for making 2019 such an enjoyable year here in the life of Hampton Park Primary School.

Thank you parents and guardians for entrusting your precious children to the staff of Hampton Park, it has been a privilege working with your children and watching them develop into stronger and wiser children as the year has progressed.

Reports

This afternoon you will be able to collect your child’s report from the classroom teacher between 3pm and 3.15pm. If you are unable to collect it then the reports will be available in the office on Thursday morning until 9.30am.

Presentation and Graduation Assembly

Last Wednesday 11th December, the year six children had their Presentation and Graduation Assembly. Congratulations to all the year six children for the wonderful work you have completed all year. In particular congratulations to the following children for receiving the following awards:

Dux/Medal of Excellence – Nikolai T
Citizenship Award – Matthew M
Endeavour Award – Harrison B
Woodside Science Award winners – Jade B & Gisel M
Sportsmanship Awards – Leeroy N & Rimu P
The Performing Arts Award – Nicolle T
Mandarin Award – Nicolle T

The year six children followed that service with a morning tea with their parents and then lunch at the Atrium, Crown Complex. The children loved the giant Christmas tree there as seen in the picture below. They also enjoyed the wide range of food on offer. This was a reward for the children for the extra work they did this year with their fundraising.

2020 Class Lists

Just a reminder that class lists can be viewed on the Website from Wednesday 29th January 2020 or on the pin up board near the office on Thursday 30th January 2020.

Return to school

All staff will have returned to work by Thursday 30th January 2020. All teachers and classroom support staff will be involved in professional learning on the Thursday and the Friday as we learn a new strategy to assist teaching children with their writing. It is called Talk 4 Writing. A well-researched based program with proven success. This does mean that Teachers and Admin are unavailable for any parent contact during those two days.

It has been a busy year but undoubtedly a good year.

I wish everyone a joyous Christmas and may you have a blessed New Year. Enjoy the holidays and see you in 2020.

C3 Assembly

The Year 1/2 have been learning about resilience and persistence and how these values can help us in our day at school. They have been working with their buddies to create situations through role play where persistence and resilience will help them overcome any problem. We have seen these values used daily and the children remind each other about the strategies they can use when things seem hard. Their teachers were very proud of their efforts to do their best at the assembly. Great job Cluster 3.

Mrs Bowden

Maker Space

At the assembly on the 4th December we presented our fantastic Maker Space Blanket to Chris and Emma from St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals. They were so impressed with the blanket and will be raffling it off in the Chemotherapy Unit just before Christmas. We will hopefully receive pictures of the winning recipient that will go in our newsletter next year. Thank you to Mrs Arnott for allowing the Maker Space to take place and a big thank you to Mrs Gosling, Mrs Kustra and Mrs Firby for their help during the year. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the students who took part in making the blanket, well done on an amazing effort.

Helping Hands

Hello wonderful families,

It is hard to believe that we are almost at the end of the year. It has been a busy year and we have so much to be thankful for as we head in to this holiday season. A few weeks ago we had our assessment and rating visit. This was 2 days of showcasing all the fantastic things we have been doing within the service. We recently received our report back and we are super excited to be able to say that we achieved meeting in all quality areas!

With the upcoming school holidays, we wanted to take this time to thank everyone who has supported us this and every year. We wish everyone a safe holiday. We will of course be working through the school holidays at Sutherland Dianella with a fun filled vacation care program. We will be going to Latitude, Lansdale Farm, Scitech and the movies. We also have some great incursions booked including Bubble Soccer, Birds of Prey and Worm! If you would like to make a booking, please visit the Helping Hands Network website. We hope to see everyone return next year after a relaxing and happy Christmas.

Thanks
Sam and Courtney
