Principal’s Report
Welcome to the school year for 2020. It was lovely to see so many familiar faces mixed in with many new faces last week. We have 50 new Kindergarten children this year, who began their year very well. Unfortunately, some of our past students have moved locations and therefore moved schools, so our student numbers are now a little lower than we had anticipated.
New Staff
This year we welcome Ms Amanda Webb to Hampton Park, Amanda has been merit selected to the position of Deputy Principal. Amanda will be working Monday to Wednesday, please don’t hesitated to contact her if you have any queries regarding your child’s health care plan or disability resourcing. General concerns regarding your child in their classroom should be addressed with your child’s teacher before progressing through to a Deputy Principal.
We are also welcoming Mrs Tanya Druzianich to Hampton Park and Mr Luke Evangelista. Tanya is teaching the year 4/5 in room 6 and Luke has the year 5/6 in room 8.
New Chaplain
We will be welcoming a new Chaplain to the school shortly. Mr Jaxon Johnston will be commencing with us, working on a Monday and Tuesday from Room 2. More details about the Chaplain’s role will be provided in the next newsletter.
School Board
Last week I sent home a nomination form for any parent that is interested in joining or returning as a member of the School Board. If you are interested in being part of the governance of the school, please complete the form and return to Janice Clamp, our Manager of Corporate Services. For further information regarding the activities of the School Board please see a copy of the Governance Tree attached or visit the school’s website below following the links to read the Terms of Reference for the School Board.

Student Road Crossing
We have been advised by the Traffic Warden State Management Unit of the WA Police Force that a Warden won’t be managing the safe crossing of children at the new crossing on Beechboro Road near Hamersley Ave. However, if you have children crossing Beechboro Road I urge you to use the new crossing. As soon as a Warden is available they will be placed there. Please see the attached document regarding the safe way for children to cross with a warden and where vehicles need to stop.
Lost Property
We have a large amount of lost property that was mainly collected at the end of the last day of school in 2019 following the water slides day. There are a number of beach towels, bathers and other swimming items that have been left behind. Please come and check out the clothing on the hooks outside the staffroom if your child is missing any items.
