Principal’s Report

It is tremendous to observe how well all the children have settled back into their new learning environments this year and settled with their teachers and assistants. They all look terrific in their tri-colour shirts as well. Thank you to all families for preparing your children so well for school.

Newsletter

The newsletter is normally sent home via email every second Wednesday. Owing to the disruption at the start of the year we sent home a newsletter in Week Three instead of Week Two. We are now back on schedule for newsletters to be sent out every fortnight on even weeks.

Consent Forms

In the next couple of weeks paper copies of consent forms will be sent home. Each year we would normally do this however this year there are to be a few more consent pages than normal. This is because of a change in policy with the Education Department when we are using Third Party providers. The letters will explain this in greater detail but it is important to note that all the letters will need to be signed and returned to the school, not just one as in previous years.

Assembly

Our first class item assembly with merit certificates and value awards will be held on Wednesday 3rd March in the undercover area. The Year Two class in C4 will be hosting the assembly. Parents of the C4 students are welcome to attend however as we still need to maintain social distancing we continue to be limited to one parent per child receiving an award and one parent per child in the item. Thank you for your support with our compliance to this regulation.

School Board

In last week’s newsletter there is an article regarding the School Board, the Terms of Reference for the Board was attached. There was also a nomination form for any parent to apply to be a Parent Representative on the School Board, we have two vacancies. If you did not receive last week’s newsletter there is a copy stored on our web page at the link below. Nominations close this Friday.

Voluntary Contributions

As we start the school year we would like to remind you of the importance of paying your Voluntary Contribution to the school office. Whilst this is a voluntary contribution, this money goes towards much needed student resources.

Has your contact information changed?

Please notify the office if any of your contact details have changed. It is important that we have the correct contact information for Parents/Carer’s and Students for general correspondence and in the case of an emergency.

Gymnastic Clinics

We have been lucky enough to have some gymnastics clinics delivered to us by Erin from the Perth Sport Institute. All our classes will participate in two lessons of body bending and balancing. Some of us are finding out how bendy our bodies are not.....anymore!

Recycling News

Recycling is very important as waste has a negative impact on the natural environment. Hampton Park Primary School is doing its part to stop recyclable items ending up in landfill. There are a number of places at the school that you can recycle your used or unwanted items. Please see the table below for a list of items we are currently recycling. Your child will receive faction points when they bring in an item.

Let's all work together to reduce our waste!

Mrs Rebecca Speldewinde
Recycling Co-ordinator
